Meet The Doctor

What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor?

It is always my goal to provide compassionate, evidence-based primary care for my patients. I listen to a patient's needs and work with the patient, and their family too if appropriate, to come up with a care plan. I am not afraid to "think outside the box" to come up with the best ways to care for my patients. I also love to teach, and you will frequently see medical students and resident physicians when coming to our office.

What is the most important factor in a doctor patient relationship and why?

The patient has to be able to trust that a doctor has their best interests in mind. Once this trust is broken, the relationship can be fractured. I am honored to earn the trust of my patients.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

My wife and our two children are the most important people in my life. We love playing sports and board games, riding bikes, and going on family hikes. In the summer, we love going to the mountains in North Carolina, where I also serve as Camp Doctor at my kids' summer camp. I am personally an avid sports fan, and enjoy playing tennis the most.

What about your line of work do you find the most rewarding and why?

I enjoy getting to care for patients in their best of times and worst of times. I especially find rewarding working with families of patients with special needs. As an educator, I love watching residents grow into confident physicians during the course of their training..
