Dr. Hernan Sanchez specializes in general surgery, including oncology surgery, colorectal surgery, and wound care. He earned his medical degree in his native Peru before coming to the United States to complete his internship, residency, and a fellowship assignment. Dr. Sanchez is fluent in both English and Spanish. He joined Baptist Medical Group in 2020.

Competent, compassionate care with the sole focus of making the patient better.

What is the most important factor in a doctor patient relationship and why?

Communication. Both doctor and patient must be willing and able to speak freely and openly to share concerns, understand the process, and have confidence in each other.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

I enjoy playing basketball, chess, and watching sitcoms, especially The Office.

What about your line of work do you find the most rewarding and why?

Making the patient feel better, and knowing I have done my very best to help them regain a high level of quality of life.
